Community Center Update
- Partnership with Bury Adult Learning Center.
- Some negotations are needed with BALC to arrange the timetable for September, there are some issues with tutor availability. However, the majority of courses are still going ahead.
- Partnership with NHS CAMHS service
- This is going well, small attendance for the first session but this is believed to grow over the next few weeks.
- Funding Updates
- Funding pot called the forge has been made available, this is for £10,000 each year for 3 years, we are going got apply for this, the deadline is 5th September.

CAMHS Partnership
We’ve partnered with Bury CAMHS (child and adolescent mental health service) who will be at Victoria Community & Youth Center every Wednesday afternoon in August.14-18 year olds can simply drop-in for a chat or advice on mental health and wellbeing.Read more about CAMHS Partnership

Community Center Update
- Centre Refurbishment
- New Wi-Fi system has been installed and provides free internet for every visitor.
- New lights have been installed in the toilets.
- Gas safety check has been completed and is not due for renewal for another year.
- Electrical safety certificate is due and will be completed by September.
- Partnership with Bury Adult Learning Center.
- The first courses started Monday 13th June providing English for Ukrainian nationals.

TRA Meeting Notes 14/06/2022
Agenda:
- Presentation from Onward Homes in regards to development of homes on the Wheatfields site.
- Presentation by Chris from Onward Homes and Jackie from Bury Council.
- Issue regarding traffic has been raised, the proposal is to expand the entrance of the site.
- The proposal is to widen and shrink the pavement areas in and around around the bottom of Victoria avenue to provide further parking and easier pedestrian access.
- Question was asked regarding traffic lights at the top of victoria avenue near the beehive and whether a filter system would be viable. Both Onward homes and Bury Council said they would look in to the idea.
- Contractors will park off site and walk to work.
- Looking start early 2023 and to finish the build by March 2024.

Community Center Updates- Improvement works
- A local company has repainted the community center to be more neutral.
- Two new artworks from a local artist have been completed and provides a fresh look for the community center.
- A new sound system has been installed and interactive television to provide a workshop and education area, £2,500 of funding was provided by Onward homes.
- 48 new chairs have been purchased with a £1,000 of funding coming from forever manchester and the Zuto fund.
- The trustees are applying for a £10,000 grant to improve the toilets and kitchen area of the center, the hope is to reduce the footprint of the bathrooms and increase the kitchen area and install a commercial kitchen where education and qualifications can be ..

Free knife crime workshop for parents
We are delighted to announce our free knife crime workshop for parents in the local area.This is a course specifically designed for parents, providing you with the facts to help you feel more confident when talking to your child about knife harm, as well as practical help and guidance, and where to find support.Course leaders have lived experience of the issues they deliver and have access to guest speakers with specialist knowledge on issues such as crime, knife crime, and county lines. CharityDean (Trustee) has informed the meeting that the charity has now paid the mortgage off and the charity now owns the building.The charity has generated around £25,000 in funding over the last 18 months.Mary (Labour Councillor) asked about the CIO status and clarity around the process.Lynne (Six Town Housing) has offered to advertise for volunteers for the charity via Six Town Housing.Read more about TRA Meeting Notes 08/02/2022

Our Successful Breakfast Parcel Program!
Introduction
Over the school holidays, some children will go without essential meals throughout the day. As a charity, we identified that the usual gap in provision has been compounded by the current COVID-19 situation and that the needs of even more children were not being met.Read more about Our Successful Breakfast Parcel Program!

Centre refurbishments!
Thanks to a Bury Council Community Capital Fund we have received much needed funding to refurbish our community centre!The refurbishment plans include:- A new false ceiling throughout the building.
- New security shutters at front and back of the building.
- Plastering for the entrance making it more bright and vibrant.
- Funding towards new toilets areas.
