We are thrilled to announce new training opportunities at Victoria Community & Youth Center for our dedicated volunteers and the broader community. Beginning this October, we offer 10 spots for individuals interested in pursuing a Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles and a Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice.
Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles
This six-month course is perfect for new volunteers, part-time youth workers, or those relatively new to working with young people in youth voluntary organisations.
Upon completing the Level 2 Award, participants can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice.
Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice
This 12-month course is designed for individuals who have worked with young people, either in a paid or voluntary capacity, for over a year. Completing this course can pave the way to further study in youth work at the degree level. The course requires a significant commitment from both you and VCYC.
Minimum Requirements
Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
Some experience working with young people in a voluntary or paid role.
A commitment to volunteer with us for the duration of your courses (18 months).
Reside in the Whitefield area.
What you will learn:
All units are accessible via an online learning portal, allowing learners to independently work through the materials and assessments. Additionally, learners will receive support and guidance from a tutor through the portal. Upon completing all units and assessments, they will participate in a professional discussion to review their learning outcomes.
